NIST using Computed Tomography for Accurate Artifact Measurement

NSI has partnered with NIST on a cooperative R&D project to evaluate and advance the metrological capabilities of CT technology.

New Innovations at APEX 2017

Interested in X-ray Computed Tomography but always thought it was too time consuming for the production environment? NSI has recently developed a number of Computed Tomography (CT) production solutions to aid CT users.  One of these helps improve the speed of CT scanning to make it a technique suitable for high volume inspection. This solution includes a clever fixture design as well as motion programs that allows your Computed Tomography system to scan a large number of samples with minimum operator input!

North Star Imaging at iCT 2017

North Star Imaging will be an exhibitor at the 7th Conference on Industrial Computer Tomography (CT) from February 7-9 in Leuven, Belgium. Industry leaders and specialists from Europe, the USA and Asia will be gathering for this 3-day event to discuss the work they are doing and new research in CT for non-destructive testing. Some of the industry experts will be sharing how CT is applied for testing in industries such as aerospace, automotive, research and science to determine material characteristics, internal measurements, finite element analysis, void and failure analysis, reverse engineering and much more.

The Grand Opening of North Star Imaging Asia

The new NSI Asia Suzhou office had its grand opening on November 16th. Customers and our some of representatives in Asia joined our staff on that day to listen to presentations made by George Qiao (NSI Asia Business Development Manager, Sheng Yue (NSI UK Applications Engineer). Also present were co-presenters, Eric Ho and Jianwen Li from FEI who demonstrated the capabilities of Avizo Inspect. Also on hand at this event were Seth Taylor (NSI General Manager) and Wes Wren (NSI Global Sales Director)

TEC Eurolab Installs NSI X7000 for Industrial Computed Tomography

Computed Tomography (CT) has the unique capability to detect internal defects and to perform a full dimensional analysis of the inspected objects without the need of destroying or disassembling the objects themselves. It's the perfect technology to assist our customers...

New interview with NSI's Product Manager featured in Aerospace Testing International Magazine

Product Manager, Nick Brinkhoff explains how a new software module enhances CT Scans for NDT.

NSI Featured on the Cover of Insight - Official Journal of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing

The October cover of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing shows a failed windshield washer fluid pump with oxidized wiring.Oxidization or rust prevents the windshield wiper’s motorized pressure pump from moving washer fluid from its reservoir to the hoses and nozzles that squirt the fluid onto the front and/or rear windscreen of a vehicle. This standard computed tomography (CT) scan was done on a North Star Imaging X5000 system with 220kV.CT scanning is a non-destructive approach to quality inspection. The process uses X-rays to produce three-dimensional representations of the scanned…

North Star Imaging Opens New Office in China

North Star Imaging (NSI) has opened its first digital industrial X-ray and Computed Tomography (CT) facility in Suzhou, China. This demonstration and inspection services laboratory is open to provide services & market applications to the Asian market.

Manufacturing Today Magazine Interview with NSI - The Measure of Success

North Star Imaging has grown significantly in its 30-year history to become a domestic leader in non-destructive testing equipment.
